The 5 Podcasts You Need to Listen for Side Hustle Success

Do you have a business idea and don't know where to start? No idea what you should be tackling first? What should you and shouldn't you be spending your precious money on right now?

These were all the crushing questions that kept going through my head before I took the first steps to launch Maeve + Me. They would go around in my head and just when I thought I was ready it would all seem too much and I would procrastinate and make excuses why I couldn't start that day.

I had some business books that I kept trying to read but just couldn't find the time during the day. Being a mum with a young baby I was only getting time during Maeve's naps and I found it hard to read and concentrate for short periods of time.

Then I discovered podcasts...

I couldn't believe how much free information was available at my fingertips! There are industry gurus and experts producing weekly content for the taking. Education podcasts available to access in seconds from your phone!

This was an absolute game changer for me - I was no longer restricted to learning during nap times. I could do it walking with the pram, while having a shower and in the background while cleaning.

I did a lot of education podcast research and took me a while to find the ones that I liked the host, I could relate to and have gotten instant results from advice they have given out.

I'm happy to handover to you my blacklist of podcasts that I listen to every week. I've delved deep into their archives as well as taken them up on all their free resources and I highly recommend each of them.

So here they are... The best educational podcasts for side hustle success!

My Top 5 Podcast Recommendations!

Jenna Kutcher - She's a digital market expert and my top recommendation if you're starting your podcast journey. She provides so much value through her educational podcasts, website and downloadable cheat sheets. From how to launch, to the best online resources and platforms to use how to stand out from the crowd. I've spent a year listening to every word she has to say and have now purchased 3 courses from her which have really helped my business.

She is also extremely relatable as she has a young daughter and isn't afraid to talk about miscarriages, social media and taking you behind the scenes of her business.

3) Building a StoryBrand with Donald Miller

Storybrand. Donald Miller. Best Podcasts, Educational Podcasts, Podcasts in Education, Podcasts Educational, Education Podcasts, Education Podcast, Best Education Podcast, Starting a Business

I found out about StoryBrand through listening to an interview on another podcast and knew straight away I needed to learn more from them.

I dove straight into the book actually and with every turn of the page was frantically highlighting and making notes. I used their framework of storytelling to set up my website and use it in all communications we use.

Once you open your eyes to story telling you realise that everything from the sales pages you read to captions on social media posts follow the same structure as a movie does.

The podcast is presented by Donald and JJ, who host the interviews in a way that makes you feel as if you are sat at the table with them. They create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere which allows the content to be easily absorbed and understood.

4) Rob Moore: The Disruptive Entrepreneur

Rob Moore. Disruptive Entrepreneur. Best Podcasts, Educational Podcasts, Podcasts in Education, Podcasts Educational, Education Podcasts, Education Podcast, Best Education Podcast, Starting a Business

Rob Moore's content came highly recommended to me from a business mentor that I had.

He is possibly one of the most passionate people that I listen to, and interviews some of the biggest names in the world . From people like Jordan Belfort (the real Wolf of Wall Street), Glenn Jacobs (WWE wrestler turned businessman) to Levi Roots (Reggae Reggae sauce).

He produces 2 podcasts a week that offer a mix of disruptive content and unscripted, unedited interviews with other entrepreneurs. I appreciate that he also gives you transcripts in each episode so you can concentrate on the audio while you are listening and take his notes later.

He believes that anyone can be a successful entrepreneur if you learn from those already winning.

My journey with Rob Moore start with his book Start Now. Get Perfect Later and now I tune into his podcast. One thing I have definitely learnt from him is that his book title really is true, you do really need to start now and get perfect later, otherwise you will never start.
